Mequon and Grafton Soccer Clubs To Form Alliance

The Mequon and Grafton soccer clubs are in discussions to combine portions of their competitive soccer programs into a new entity called the Fusion Soccer Club.  Initially the Select and High School programs will be combined, allowing Fusion to field highly competitive teams for ages U11-U18.  The plan is for the coaching staffs of both organizations to remain intact, with Carlos Cordoba and Don Arnold acting as Co-Directors of Coaching for Fusion programs and remaining active in both practice and game coaching. Moreover, pre-existing Select and High School teams from each club will not be disrupted, but will simply move under the Fusion umbrella, where participation in a larger club will help stabilize teams, and additional facilities/coaching resources will provide unparalleled opportunities for player development.

It is anticipated that the merger will be completed in time for tryouts in June, and for league play starting in Fall of 2013.  More information can be found on our Fusion web page.  We expect the alliance to be approved and finalized by May 1, 2013.
