2012 Season

The Mequon Soccer Club fielded 3 girls teams for the 2012 Super-Y season.  The games were played over several weekends in July.  A tour bus took the teams to venues in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois, where the U12, U13, and U14 teams played competitive matches against some of the best teams in the Midwest.  Some of the clubs that were repesented this year include Cleveland Internationals, TNT Dynamite, Alliance Academy, Kalamazoo Kingdom, and others.  When not playing soccer, the teams visited local malls (a popular activity!) or relaxed at the team hotel.  Meals were taken at local restaurants, or teams would order take-out and eat at the hotel or at the fields.  The girls stayed four-to-a-room, and parent chaperones made sure everybody shut out the lights at the right time, were up in the morning to get breakfast and get on the bus for the games, and generally made everything go smoothly (Thank you Deb, Kay, Lori, Jenny, Becky!!!).

U12G Team
For the U12 team this was their first experience playing the 11v11 format on a bigger field, and this put them at a disadvantage compared to most of the competition which already played a year at this team/field size.  Nevertheless, they played very well and the experience will give them an advantage going into regular league play in Wisonsin this Fall.

U13G Team
With a little more experence playing against the high level of competition in Super-Y, the U13 team managed a 4th place finish in their division.

U14G Team
The U14G team finished in 2nd place in their division, earning them berth at the National Championships played in Florida.
