Mequon Soccer Club is excited to announce their membership in the Wisconsin Soccer League (WSL).  This league, being managed by US Club Soccer, will provide a supplement to our existing SELECT programs that will help optimize player development while keeping meaningful competition as a key component to youth soccer in Wisconsin.
The WSL will play a 10 game schedule (5 fall, 5 spring) that Does Not conflict with Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association league play in which clubs currently compete.  The 10 games will be scheduled in August, November, April and June, which is before and after WYSA league play.
The schedule will be designed to accommodate club versus club play, with flexible schedules, flexible team participation, flexible rules, and flexible rostering to provide for more player development opportunities in a player and coach centric environment.
The Directors of Coaching of the clubs joining the WSL felt the combined model of pre-season games focused purely on player and team development, and a regular league season via their current leagues was a better option than that presented to them via the Wisconsin Developmental Academy (WDA) pilot program that 20 clubs had been offered a spot in.
By partnering with US Club Soccer on this addition to our program we can provide a significant number of potential new opportunities to our players and teams including access to the US Club National Cup series and the id2 player identification program without adding costs to our families.
